ABOUT LISBETH DAVIDOW

I came to the Feldenkrais Method® because of a chronic ankle injury that prevented me from standing or walking without pain, which, in turn, affected my daily life in a myriad of ways.  As I learned through the Feldenkrais Method® to walk and move in a more organized, efficient way, my ankle injury healed, other pain and discomforts receded, and I returned to a freer, healthier, happier version of myself.

I graduated from the Los Angeles Professional Feldenkrais Training in 1994 and since then have completed many hours of advanced post-graduate trainings. In my private practice and in my Awareness Through Movement® classes, I continue to be astonished by how effective the Feldenkrais Method® is for alleviating pain, discomfort and tension and for improving the overall quality of one's life.

I have always been passionate about exploring movement. Before I became a Feldenkrais Practitioner, I was a modern dancer, teacher and choreographer.  I taught technique and composition in the dance department at the University of California, Riverside and presented my choreography in New York City and throughout Southern California.

I am also a writer. My work has been published in over a dozen literary magazines.

I have a BA in English Literature from the University of Pennsylvania, an Ed.M from Tufts University and an MFA in Dance from Sarah Lawrence College.

"I have been going to Feldenkrais practitioners since 1995. They have all been good, but for me Liz is the best. She is very caring as well as informative. She has made a real difference for me in realigning my body and getting out of pain. I highly recommend her."

"Before we found Lisbeth, my 92-year-old mother had a great deal of pain in her hip and her neck that degraded her quality of life by keeping her sedentary and feeling low emotionally. Lisbeth's work with mom is very gentle, encouraging and respectful. Mom has very little pain now, is steadier on her feet and flexible in her body, and has become much happier and engaged in life."

"After one Feldenkrais lesson with Liz, a hip pain I'd had for several years almost disappeared. It was a minor miracle. Liz has years of experience thinking about and sensing  bodies through dancing and dealing with injuries. I highly recommend her as an intuitive and knowledgeable practitioner."
